Bidrage med feedbackThis was a fixed menu, and just select a few. I would call it land French the specificity of the house was a duck with faus gras, but since none of us ensured we all (4) choose the steak. it was moderate. compared to what we use in the usa. the other courses were also disappointing. we ate outside in a terrace. the building is very historical and interesting from 1700. atmosphere good, and the owner very same.
This was the first time we visited this restaurant. We only got to hear about it as we had a flyer put under the windscreen wiper advertising a Valentine's Day meal when we visited a market in a nearby town. It was difficult to find...as it was out in the country in a small hamlet. The restaurant building itself was charming, but parking could be a problem. The menu was traditional country style French cooking. We had mushroom soup, monkfish in a saffron sauce, lamb shanks or stuffed guinea fowl leg, cheese and desert. The price for the meal was €24 including a 1/4 picket of wine per person. Very good value and very good cooking. They also do lunches at €13 du ring thé week. Different opening times and days apply during winter. You need to book for an evening meal and they only open for larger parties during winter evenings. We will be going back to try the lunchtime menu and will also return for an evening meal in spring/summer.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful environment next to a canal river. at the moment they repair the lock, when it is finished, it will be an even more peaceful place. that said the works didn't strike. the food was excellent and they smashed. good glass wein to drink lunch. this was all accompanied by friendly and efficient service.
Hidden from the d29 a landmark, this restaurator is a small jewel. we chose the menu for 26euros, starting with pot (a fresh veg kartoffel soup) delicious French brot, then our selcetions contain dee foie gras salat (devine), healed...ham and wobble salat (equally devine) and scallops in a sauce (also delicious). for the main course we chose steak and duck, both cooked for perfection. then followed a white, soft cheese course (like a thick natural yoghurt, very fresh and creamy) before the desserts floating island, cream caramel, ice and a apricot teat were all beautiful and all our tellers were almost licked clean! the lady who had the place served us and was charming as the garden where we sat. it was very relaxed and a wonderful meal was from all. highly recommended for good eating in a beautiful environment.
As we enthusiastic bruno courreges fans followed his way to auberge le roussel and we were happy to eat here in the garden on a beautiful sunny day in the mai too afternoon. we had le plat du jour and enjoyed good perigord tariff and real. friendly service. madame was very pleasant and we would highly recommend to search this hidden gem.
