Hook Reel Cajun Seafood - Lawrenceville

I was really excited to try this restaurant as I love seafood and there are like 3 other seafood restaurants within a mile so I wanted to see if this would be our new spot. Pros: large shrimp, like prawns. Safe and secure packaging. Cons: lacked any kind of seasoning and tasted very plain. The shrimp weren?t fried enough, they were lightly fried as seen in the pics which gave it a weird sterile taste. For the price I was disappointed. I may give it another chance in the future since they just opened but as of now I?ll be frequenting the other seafood spots that have flavorful food and good prices.

The atmosphere is nice. If you didn't know it was previously a ocharlys you could barely tell. We went during a possible soft launch, due to there alcohol license wasn't received . Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the catfish Po boy with lobster bisque. I enjoyed my food . Love the lobster bisque. The portion of the catfish was a nice size . I was told boil was good as well and lvl 2 spice level was super hot but good. I would definitely come back for lunch.

This place ROCKS!!! I?ve been here multiple times, the staff is out of this world! Tina, a manager, is amazing. The staff is super personable and aim to build customer relations. The food is fast, delicious and fresh. Highly recommend the create your own seafood boil. Serves about 2, and is worth every penny. This place is amazing. Come here now!

First time here, it's a fun experience with really great food. My wife and I both ordered seafood boils. I got the Blue Crab and Shrimp with sausage added. My wife got the Scallops and a Lobster tail with a hardboiled egg. The sauces are great, and the food was fresh, well seasoned and delicious. Service is excellent and the prices seem pretty on point with the quality. Only one word of caution: Be careful what clothes you wear here because things can get messy really fast. They provide bibs, gloves, an entire napkin dispenser, as well as wet-naps for a very good reason.

This was the first time I went to Hook Reel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was very clean and well put together. The food was very good. I got a catfish po boy with sweet potato fries, and lobster bisque soup. If you are in for a good fried seafood place to eat this place is worth checking out. They do fried, and boiled foods. It is an average sized menu. It has a variety of choices but is not overwhelming in menu size euther.
