Golden Krust Caribbean - Lawrenceville

Golden crust is far too expensive for what you get. They use their customers tbh. If you really know Jamaican food then you know not to eat here. I'm not eating here for this reason anymore. I tried to let my sister know the same, but today she learned her lesson and didn't get back. The small one is now served in the same containers they use for side dishes. Looks like a joke I had to confirm to make sure and was said that they are doing it now. Disgusting how they take people money and do that.

This might have been some of the best Jamaican food I've had in metro Atlanta. I got the oxtail meal with a spicy beef patty and Mac and cheese. Every single item was immaculate. The rice getting soaked with the gravy was delicious, the oxtail was braised so we'll with the perfect texture. The Mac and cheese was a solid compliment and done exactly right with that crust on top and finally the beef patty tasted like it was made from scratch. It was flaky, buttery, flavorful beef inside. Just amazing experience. I just wish I could have been able to sit in the restaurant and eat it but the dining room is closed for COVID right now.

The beef patty was soggy and brown stew chicken was very sweet had nothing but chicken back.

I stopped by to get me a small oxtails with yellow rice. I have eaten at this location before and food was always good. This time wasn't any different as the food was hot, good, and enough for me to eat. Plantain are delicious by the way

This was a first time trying this location as the snellville location was major crowded and the line for the drive thru was wrapped around the corner. Oh how wished I had waited instead of driving over here. The server in the drive thru (team lead) as it stated in her badge was not the least bit friendly, just unwelcoming. Paying over 25.00 for a meal, I would expect better. I ordered the oxtail dinner. I should have just asked for a rice dinner. Because they packed the rice and topped it with the littlest pieces of oxtails and literally a table spoon full of cabbage. See photos. The taste was not all good, the cabbage was too way too hard, almost raw. Just a waste of my money! This is my first and last time coming to this location. I advice to keep driving past this one and try the Snellville Location. You will have to wait but its worth the trip. Choose wisely.
