Don Jose Taqueria - Lawrenceville

Our family's favorite taco place. The horchata is cold and sweet. The tortillas are always spectacularly fresh. Service is fast and the restaurant is clean. It's a small space, so don't take a big party. Our family has six people and it gets a little tight.

First of let me start by saying that every negative comment I see on here is such bluff. This place is so underrated. When you first see this place from the outside you ask yourself dang do I really want to go in there? It’s not the fanciest looking thing, but the food and service definitely makes up for it. I have gone a couple of times with my husband and friends, they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and the food is cheap annddd the service is amazing. It is a very humbling experience. You sit there surrounded by the most humbling people on earth. It literally reminds me of Mexico and how great the people are. I have even seen the owner a couple of times and he always greets us with love. If i had to recommend some food I would say go for the tacos!!!! Best tacos ever. Get the pastor tacos! Even better than Polo’s taqueria which is way overrated and has the worst customer experience. Don’t knock it till you try it. I will continue coming to eat tacos here.

Clean. Good customer service. Good music. Dine in or take out. Plenty of parking. Speaks English and Spanish there.

Normally I drive all the way to Buford for decent tacos. I 've been trying different places since '94 El Dey Rey has been my go to spot but I gave Don Jose a chance I 'm pleased thrilled that I FINALLY found a taco spot in Gwinnett that 's up to my standards. DEFINITELY got me as an instant fan loyal customer. I got my addiction lenga tacos tamales. (Rojo Verde)....all three items were delicious. I 'll admit, I bit my tongue inside of my cheek, they were so good.

My new favorite place to get amazing Mexican food! 10/10 would recommend! I had the best asada quesedilla of my life here. The staff were very friendly and kind!
