Basepoint - Lauterbrunnen

This cafe bar is great fun with great food and great beer, the owner Fabien is awesome, always gives attention to his customers and creates a fun friendly atmosphere. This is also a meeting place for people in to BASE jumping and other adventure sports, so if you want to meet interesting like minded people from all over the world and get advice from locals, this is the place to go.

The service is faultless; extremely personable, attentive and welcoming. The food is the best on offer in Lauterbrunnen and really well priced. A must visit.

We ordered for a veg burger, nachos with hummus and bruschetta. The wait was for a long 45 mins after which the food delivered was decent enough. Bruschetta was like chutney on a bread with tomato and carrot slices, nachos with hummus encountered for the first time was not bad at all, liked the burger and fries. For the delay, the host apologised and gave us the nachos as complimentary. Overall satisfied.

The service is slow but friendly. The prices are Swiss _ cheeseburger -okay, chicken burger - tasty, with French fries, beer and a Diet Coke - 48.50 francs. It seems wherever you go - it's pricey in Switzerland. They don't accept credit cards.

We didn't have reservations at the first restaurant/hotel that was rated #1 but there were plenty of empty tables. We walked into this fun place! There are tables outside but it was raining so we sat inside. It has modern furniture and large bar. There are 2 tvs playing extreme sports videos. Our waitress was young, friendly and attentive. It got much busier after 8. Burger and fries with dark interlaken beer was absolutely heavenly after a week of swiss food. The Thai curry chicken with noodles was tasteless. It was missing the coconut milk and more curry. I would definitely recommend the meat or veggie burger with a big dark local beer! Cheapest dinner all week-7sf beer and 14sf burger
