Bidrage med feedbackI gave a five star review July 2021 and I feel compelled to write another review to challenge the significant number of poor reviews resulting in 3 star rating and at the bottom end of nearly 600 reviewable restaurants I have spent considerable time in most South American countries where our default position was always Peruvian cuisine as we are predominantly pescavores raw and cooked. Firstly yes the dishes are expensive but equally starters are in the range 25 SF and mains 40 SF these prices are the rule rather than exception in moist Swiss restaurants. For example you will pay at least 40SF for filet des perches most restaurants with nothing like the preparation and quality products used here such as courage tuna and octopus. These are imported and quality seafood has become a luxury so you pay for quality. The dishes used traditional Peruvian accompaniments like roasted sweetcorn and different types of sweet potato. I agree the cocktails are expensive but you are in a prime idyllic position with spectacular scenery not withstanding a restaurant with terrace and interior of modern and elegant design. For example if you request a pisco sour there is an art to its preparation and it requires the use of beaten white of egg. This setting is comparable to a rooftop hotel bar or a beach club in South of France you would pay a premium there We have now been six times as it is one of our favourite restaurants and we have never had any problem with service it has been professional engaging and welcoming and surely in this setting you want measured service and not be rushed out the door so you can absorb the atmosphere. On three occasions we brought friends all international travellers who absolutely loved it. With the exception of one dish they have all been of quality flavoursome and beautifully presented and as fish goes fresh as possible for a country with no sea border. I did speak to the manager regards Tiradito tartufa informing that it was too acidic as the brown sauce included not only lemon but balsamic vinegar and it also looked insipid and destroyed the taste of the underlying carpaccio of tuna.I do not consider this a traditional Peruvian dish and strongly recommend it is modified. It was alluded to by another reviewer As for the female customer who wanted to walk through this restaurant interior in a bikini there would be very few places anywhere this would be allowable irrespective if it was empty or not show a little respect for yourself and the restaurant and cover yourself appropriately and remember 'bikini beach ' is just a name as there is no beach in front of the restaurant In spite of all the bad reviews it will remain one of our favourite Lausanne region restaurants
I feel compelled to write a review having just had lunch there two hours ago.I would like to think I can speak objectively and critically on the basis of 470 contributions to trip advisor incl 270 cities It is apparent from the reviews that all the one and two star reviews complain about the service more the slowness than the staff themselves. These reviews give little mention to the food which is odd. Why would service be the dominating theme here.It may be related to the modern society we live in today time restrained impatient and inability to enjoy what a stunning restaurant this is in location and atmosphere and absorb this. If the food is substandard then of course the service comes into focus. So why is the food misunderstood. We are pescavores but from time to time enjoy a carnivorous meal.Switzerland is a landlocked country and most menus are meat based. In terms of fish fillet des perches dominates and `I find addictive but as with other imported sea fish there is little inventory. So here comes a Peruvian restaurant which has an amazing diverse menu honed to traditional Peruvian dishes in every sense.which are authentic and of a standard similiar to South America where we have visited many times. It is possible that those reviews which are ambivalent about the food may not be familiar with this which is atypically Swiss. We had two ceviche dishes, one. tuna the other daurade which were of the highest quality and would have made Peru proud as an example of their culinary tradition On another note we had Pisco Sour up with the best I would like to say a good word for the proprietor we suggested they should use basil in pisco sour and he made one on the spot complimentary and asked for our advice not that he needed it how to improve it So open your eyes to a very different kind of food of the highest quality here, relax and enjoy the spectacular setting surroundings and atmosphere and please do not judge this place entirely on slow service The two Peruvian chefs and the proprietor have created a gem of a place We will be back again and again and bring guests. If service does really bother you then book early and during the week and not at more popular times where of course service will be slower
Nice view but not very comfortable outside. Not even a peanut, Closes at 6:30 p.m. in summer
The mattresses have marks and we are asked to take off our shoes to lie on them, I am dreaming. We spill a glass and the boss refuses to replace it for us. Never seen that, really no business, too bad for them I wanted to have my birthday there, they missed a nice group, I'll never set foot there again. Having a magnificent setting is not enough, you have work to do if you want to make the figure at Nikki Beach in Saint-Tropez. Reputation and respect for the customer are the basis, good luck.
Lovely location! Peruvian food is a rarity, so we were very excited to try it. The prices seemed a little steep, but it's Lausanne right by the water so it's to be expected. Food presentation was excellent, the wine menu and the cocktails were extensive and fabulous. There was only one dish that was vegetarian, but since fish is the main staple, this wasn't surprising. They offer different kinds of ceviche and fish dishes. The manioc fries were highly interesting and tasty. We didn't get dessert because we had waited a long time for our order, so opted for a night cap instead. I'm giving four of five stars for a few reasons. First, was we had asked for a second serving of fries...and ended up waiting almost 45 min for them to bring the wrong order. Perhaps this is an anomaly and it was a busy night. Secondly, since smoking is allowed in the outdoor seating, it was unpleasant at times. We noticed that none of the staff wore masks despite the place being rather full, it was a little uncomfortable. The waiter was relatively attentive, and tried his best. Either the kitchen was unorganized, orders got lost, or they were understaffed. Perhaps it's not always like this, but for the prices and location I would have expected a bit more professionalism. Maybe next time.
