Carl's Seafood Take-out

The chicken was cold and hard the brown stew gravy was cold and pasty, the rice and peas was cold and the salad was bland. I order from 1.2 mile away. No one picked up the phone when I called.

Worse salt mackerel meal I have ever eaten, they didn't even de-boned it, take the scales or the head off or clean It properly and the vegetables weren't nicely cut this chef needs to be fired or not cook salt mackerel again very bad for business

I'm sorry but no. I'm from New York and this place came highly rated. A bit confused by this being that the food is not great. Why are we using cornmeal for dumplings ?? Why do I only taste black pepper in my Ackee Saltfish Callaloo ? I know different places prepare things differently but this food tastes lazy AF. And cold tea bruh ? Ok guys!

Eh I mean it wasn't bad but it wasn't super good. Ironically, if the ppl serving you have an attitude at a Jamaican restaurant it's a good thing. Which they kindaaaa did but they were very nice at the end which explains why the food was in the middle I think. Weird logic but it's usually true. There was no menu on the whiteboard upon entry and the food display was all foggy so I had no clue what they had so I had to ask. (FYI there's tiny pamphlets by the register with the menu) Stingy with the jerk sauce since it comes in a tiny tiny container but they were actually generous on the oxtail gravy I asked to pour on top which was a shocker. Still on the hunt for good Jamaican food around here so I probably won't be back anytime soon.

Friends swear by this place. Finally got to try them out during an all girl outing and they didn't disappoint. I'm certain they are a little extra for their repeat customers and associates because my plate was huge! They weight on it was serious. First the employees are super nice and friendly greeting many people by name. The King Fish or Snapper is a must. Depending on the day I'll say it's better than Donna's. Callaloo and Steam Vegetables are always flavorful. After a few repeat tries the only negative thing I can add I can never seem to arrive when there are fried dumplings!
