Ala Shanghai Chinese Cuisine - LATHAM

I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant on 5/4/22. As someone with celiac disease, it's often difficult to find safe gluten-free options that are free from cross contamination. The manager personally came to my table to explain how the food was prepared and what dishes would be safe for me to enjoy. I started with the steamed chicken dumplings as an appetizer, followed by the sesame chicken as my main course. I even indulged in the eight jewel sticky rice for dessert. Everything was delicious! Since it was my first time trying Chinese cuisine, the manager even took the time to teach me how to use chopsticks. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant every time I'm in the area. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

Dining at this lovely, welcoming restaurant is always a pleasure. The food is exceptional, with a wide range of unique flavors and familiar, delicious dishes. The hardworking owners and attentive, efficient staff deserve high praise. Kudos to Ala Shanghi!

The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious! The soup dumplings and fried rice are fantastic, and the Tong po pork is incredibly delicious. The ambiance is very inviting. The only drawback is that the service is sometimes lacking. I have visited a few times and the last visit was the only time the servers were friendly.
