Lasarte Bar Restaurant - Lasarte-oria

We selected the classic tasting menu. Overall, while the dishes were generally tasty, they were completely forgettable, although they were visually attractive. Service was very good.

Barcelona has several Michelin star restaurants and we decided on Lasarte the restaurant decor is simple , spacious, clean lines and warm. The staff are excellent and speak good English. They explain the menu , wine selection , each item which is served . We chose the Lasarte menu and we were more than happy at the end of the meal. Before the meal starts however you are served with some lovely bread , a selection of 6 butters , a smooth exquisite olive oil one of the best I have tasted. Then the pre dinner starters 4 in all creatively prepared , using interesting ingredients and bite sized portions . Then the meal began! It's quite seafood based though you can let them know before hand if you avoid certain items. Still if you avoid sea food, it will be a challenge for you to enjoy the meal. We had scallop, crayfish, sea bass, lamb shoulder, Wagyu carpaccio nicely prepared , tasty, not too heavy . Dessert was a gin tonic rested in mint , cucumber, lemon and apple and a black truffle cur cream and then petit fours serve on an interesting tower . By the end we were full but very happy. It ranks as one of my best dinners ever . It's not cheap however , but for the quality food, ingredients, service and ambience and you will probably dine here not too often it's really worth the experience .
