Bidrage med feedbackWait, are we talking about food? As a passionate taco lover, some might find it unusual that a taco connoisseur would choose an arepa shop. I would agree and prayed to the taco gods that they would not judge me. I stopped by since they were just a block away and within walking distance from my starting point at The Strat. So you went to Las Vegas, and this is your sin? As soon as I walked in, the vibrant menu caught my eye, and the restaurant’s decor, filled with pictures of delicious plates, created a lively atmosphere. After a friendly chat with Roberto, who was super helpful and knowledgeable about his Venezuelan creations, I decided to order a Pabellón Arepa (beef, black beans, plantain, and cheese) and a Cachapa (with shredded beef), along with a mango drink and a panela drink. Is this a confession or a review? YES, I must confess! It all began with the drinks. The panela (sugar cane) drink was delightful; I expected it to be excessively sweet, but it was perfectly balanced. Oh my goodness! You shouldn’t say that. Sorry, but the mango drink was from another world; it tasted so fresh and was better than any mango drink I’ve had at any taqueria. My word, you said it again in Spanish! The Pabellón arepa arrived, and it was incredible. The beans and cheese complemented each other beautifully, and every now and then, a bite of plantain would surprise me with its sweetness, adding a delightful touch.
I would honestly give it a 4.5. The food was really delicious, and I'm thrilled to see vegan options available. However, I would love to see more vegan alternatives and a greater variety of sauces. The Strawberry Frescas were super yummy!
The food was absolutely amazing! I had the pork ribs, which came with fries, black beans, and a plain arepa. The meat was incredibly flavorful and tender! The beans were seasoned perfectly as well. My friend ordered the carne asada arepa with avocado, and he devoured it in no time, haha! I tried the Maltin drink, which was described as a mix of Coke and Dr. Pepper, but I have to say that was a really misleading description—I didn’t like it at all, haha. Anyway, if you're in Vegas, you should definitely check this place out! It's located at the end of the Strip, and the Deuce bus lets you off right in front.
I used to live right across the street and I'm white raised by Mexicans (so i now how to speak basic spanish and pronounce it) and I went in there and did not see the English menu and read off the Spanish menu and messed up the pronunciation because it had been a while since I spoke Spanish and they scoffed and I went there for about a month and everytime they gave me nasty ingredients because they thought I was racist or something stupid, no shot it just happened to be brown lettus, brown guacamole, brunt bread, and burnt meat every time I went for a month, wouldn't recommend. Been a few years but this is vegas, everyone's racist to white ppl.
The food was amazing! I had the beef and cheese empanadas, and they were absolutely delicious. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in town.
