I am happy that they are finally open for lunch. Now people from other parts of town can get something before rush hours.
We decided to have dinner here on a whim. Monday evening 6ish pm. Upon arriving, the host informed us that the wait time to be seated would be 30-45 min. And another 30-45 for our food after ordering. They only have one waiter and one cook and a busser. The hush puppies are good! Chicken cajun pasta was delishes, recommended by our waiter. We also had the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly well. Got two clusters of crab legs good. Collard greens where delishes as well. Our waiter was Charlie, and he went above and beyond! Made sure we had drinks and hush puppies while we waited for our dinner. He brought over a slice of pecan pie, and it was delicious!!! Despite the wait times, we enjoyed our dinner.
This establishment has significantly declined since my last visit several years ago. During our recent visit, we were disappointed to find that they were out of fries or fried okra. The mac and cheese, while visually appealing, had a disappointing taste. The interior of the restaurant appeared quite dated, yet oddly, they had newer flat screens. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Although the catfish remains the standout dish, the overall experience was mediocre, and considering the relatively high prices, I am unsure if I would choose to return.
Server took a while to see us, but the food was decent. I was hoping for more New Orleans food and taste.
