Bear Dance Golf Club - Larkspur

The course itself is fantastic, but the management leaves a lot to be desired. I've been golfing for 25 years and have never encountered such an unpleasant course marshal. We were reprimanded several times for slow play while we were waiting on multiple groups ahead of us at each tee box. It took over 20 minutes to tee off at every hole. I’ve never felt so disappointed in a golfing experience. While I understand that Saturdays can be busy, the rude behavior of the marshal and the poor course management were simply unacceptable.

This course definitely deserves a 5-star rating. However, today's experience was marred by poor management. We ended up taking 5 hours to complete our round on a Wednesday. There was a group of 6 in front of us, and one individual was giving his girlfriend lessons on the course, which slowed down play for everyone. The marshal didn't arrive until the 8th hole, making it difficult for us to address the situation. Given how upscale and pricey this course is, such mismanagement is unacceptable. My son and I had been looking forward to this round for months, and while the course and facilities were outstanding, the management really needs to improve if they want to cater to this clientele. It was quite disappointing!

The staff was fantastic, and the food and courses were excellent. I will definitely be returning!

If you get a chance go play a round here, always fun and very challenging.
