L De La Banniere - Laon

Unfortunately all the good reviews seem to be from 3-4 years ago as apparently things have changed since then. We did get a very nice table and the service was great but this does not forgive the lackluster meals we were served. We had high hopes when we received some amuses but it fell flat from there. We had the foie gras to start but it was way too cold served with a small apple pie ? My 26€ steak was very bland, chewy and smothered in artificial pepper sauce and my wife’s chicken was ok but lacked sauce. There was also way too much potato on the plate. Thankfully we had a decent bottle of Pinot noir which saved the evening. There are few choices for restaurants on Sunday evenings but we would have gotten more out of our money if we had gone to the dinner kebab shop around the corner.

As a french people, i wait from a restaurant like this one a minimum of honesty and that was not. Frozen food beginning with appel pie with the duck 's liver, following by suprême de poulet ... In fact chicken wing like in KFC and a vol au vent with bechamel.... It was just a spoon of heavy cream... Not so sur it was not an industrial one... Following by profiteroles... Frozen.... Again and for chocolate cake an industrial one. It 's a shame to sell something like this to strangers to show what is our gastronomy for a price... Excuse me of more than 100€... I Will never recommend to go there.

Hotel in the heart of the medieval city of Laon. Very warm and friendly welcome The rooms are pretty vintage-style, it doesn't appeal to everyone but it's still charming. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I suggest you don’t miss it because it was perfect: cheap and really good. The staff also set up an improvised "child menu" for our little one, which is always pleasant!! So we say thank you for this stay:

Very good reception, excellent meals not had the choice of room because hotel complete and well deserved because good reception and very good table
