Bidrage med feedbackFood was great! We had pizza and the gnocchi. Can't wait to go back and try something else. Took a little longer than expected to order but once our order was placed, the food came quickly.
I would like to say I was so impressed with the this wonderful restaurant that we now have in Fort Langley. We arrived when the power had just gone out and they still opened the door to our group of 5 and served us amazing Pizza from the wood burning fire by candle light and a beautiful bottle of wine. My husband and I travel all over the world and I have to say this is as close as you can come to Italy! We need restaurants like this in Fort Langley that listen and cater to the locals. As I read some of the reviews I was terribly saddened that locals would not speak quietly to the Owner or management to better the local restaurant in our quaint town of Fort Langley, but instead write horrible reviews and threaten to tell everybody in FL. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I called a week and a day in advance to make a reservation for 22 people. I explained it was for a birthday party. Upon arrival, I brought a cake and some candles to the restaurant and was told by serving staff that they do not do this as they have their own deserts and apparently I was supposed to make arrangements ahead of time. The manager said they 'd make an exception this time around. They added $20 to my bill. Ok that 's fine, life lesson for me right? The food was pretty good. However one of our servers was extremely rude the entire time we were there (blonde lady with glasses and wears her hair in a bun). One example. One of our guests was 20 minutes late and is 8 months pregnant. The server had taken all the other orders and asked what she and her husband wanted. She apologized stating they 'd been late and would need five minutes to order. The server responded 'I 'll give you three minutes ' and stormed off. It shouldn 't have matter as we 'd already put in our other orders and hadn 't waited for them. Later on the same girl (again very pregnant) went to the counter and asked this same server where the bathroom was. The server looked right at her and then looked down scoffed and then ignored her completely. Needless to say my friend was shocked, but we carried on. we spent over $400 there and the other servers were pleasant and this server maybe was having a bad day, but overall I wasn 't impressed with the one server and her approach. I also didn 't appreciate the manager adding $20 to light a candle and carry a cake to the table without at least telling me they 'd be doing that. I would 've opted to put the cake in the car and just done cake at home. I 'm not writing them off completely, as I had a nice lunch there by myself a couple weeks ago and they are a new and small restaurant and it may be overwhelming to have to serve 23 people, but overall, disappointed with my experience and won 't be back.
If you follow me on social media, you would know that I confessed that I had felt uninspired by what I was doing with this space. So I decided to reinvent what I do here. I love to write, whether anyone reads it or not, so I knew the blog part of Miss Delish would stay. I just felt like I wasn’t excited to come up with new recipes, it was getting to the point where it was becoming a chore to figure out what I could make next, which made me not want to do it at all. Also, the ads that were on the site were driving me nuts, so they’re gone! Now you can browse without being bombarded by tampon advertisements.
The dinner was delicious and the whole experience was heart felt as if an Italian family had opened their doors and invited us to their dinner party. And we can also see the amazing passion from the food they prepare because they are so proud of everything they grow, make or cook. If anyone wants to participate the true Italian hospitality, it is worth a drive to visit Mangia E Scappa in Fort Langley.
