Great ambience, courteous staff and unbelievably tasty dishes!
The location and the Schlösschen are very beautiful, the view of the Lake Constance is also beautiful! The restaurant did not quite convince us, but it was not bad, but the price of performance is simply not right here. Until the waiter finally came and handed us the cards, and then the second time came to pick up our order is certainly half an hour past. We had vacation and had no deadline printing but it was really very slow. We had two salads with salmon, zander and shrimp) and drinks, and then we ordered cakes and coffee. We were worried that we had to wait a long time for the food, but it was quite fleeing. The salad that was announced with an interesting description and € 21.50 per serving has made us hope of a truly royal salad that suits the castle. What we got was a small portion of mixed salad, with a single mini each) pieces Zander, salmon and ONE shrimp was OK but really no highlight. We just expected more at the price. Coffee and cake were also just OK. In this top place, there will certainly always be people who have no problems spending € 70, for two salads and two pieces of cake, the quality must then also vote. You also have to remember that some people go on holiday for a second time in the same place... Montfort will probably not be able to welcome us more than guests. Actually, it would be just 2 stars worth, but the terrace is really nice in nice weather, therefore 3 stars!!

My comment obviously falls out of the frame, but my experience in this place was grottenschlecht. The place has something, for festivities surely a fantastic frame. But that was all. Otherwise, it is a pure money printing machine with very unfavorable price/performance ratio for the guest. If the weddings that are obviously very popular here are served as well as the event I attended, then I can only guess. Here too: Check who binds. I was invited to a celebration with about 60 people, she took place in 2 cellar rooms. It was a warm evening, both outside and especially inside. The ventilation systems running on the ceiling only seem to be attractors, because they were switched off. It does not necessarily have to run the air conditioning system, but the overheated, consumed air could be sucked off. But it costs the host money. The food was something for a zero diet. Various appetizers in various preparations were phenomenal tasteless, even a herb salad with abundant cumin had as the only aroma only cheap vinegar. The three main dishes were lukewarm, because even on the flames was saved: Among the chafing dishes only a flame glimmed, the second stood still next to the dish. Here, too, the aroma of the dishes had been lost. The dessert was tastefully almost an experience, at least in relation to the previous corridors. However, a large bowl with different types of ice in the form of frozen ice balls is already a challenge for self service. For the 60 people, two service personnel were assigned, one of which was mostly concerned with regenerating glasses and other footwear. So you had to run yourself or wait a long time. The wine was lukewarm according to the room temperature, also was a wine variety with reordering of very different tastes, it was the impression that red wine is red wine, no matter what name it bears. So you grab the next bottle to fill the carafe. The coronation was the departure from this establishment: The lamps of the avenues leading to the house and away from there were either all broken or shut off, which caused in the darkness too much uncertainty in the older dominions. Even here is saved. The per head price mentioned by the host was gigantic in terms of quality! In a few words, I can only guess for a special celebration!!!
