A must when in Cape Town. Great, tasty authentic food

The food is really fantastic! the amazing lady who also is the owner had a great preformance. The musicians had a really nice African music preformance! everyone should visit this place!!

We took several students from the United States and had an outstanding time at Lelapa. It was the best restaurant we tried for enjoying authentic African food even though we ate at several much more expensive and exclusive restaurants. It was also a super-fun experience with great music and hospitality.

This restaurant, located in a private home, is run by the homeowners, Monica and her mother Sheila. The cozy atmosphere and homemade feel make each meal special, from the bread bowl to dessert, all prepared with love. The food is made from scratch, incredibly flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. Everything is fresh and made to order, making the wait worth it. Vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful, with a variety of salads, game meats, and a delightful dessert of blueberry ice cream with plum crumble. Groups are welcome, and the hospitable owners are not only talented chefs but also engaging storytellers. Plan for a 2-4 hour dining experience, depending on group size, and remember to make a reservation in advance, especially if you have dietary restrictions.
