While I could see the smoking process on both the chicken and beef, the smoke flavor was quite mild in all the meats on my plate. The pulled pork was my least favorite; it was bland and lacked any real flavor apart from the sauce served with it. On the bright side, all the meats were tender and juicy, which I appreciated. My wife's baby back ribs were quite good, with a noticeable smoky flavor and tenderness. The sauces didn’t really suit our taste; the house sauce was quite heavy on the tomato, while the Carolina sauce was predominantly apple cider vinegar. The spicy and sweet tangy sauce was just okay. The sides were enjoyable, and the cornbread was moist and sweet. In addition, the presentation of the food was attractive, and the staff was polite, albeit a bit quiet. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was clean inside, although it was uncomfortably warm, and the bathroom felt like a sauna. It would be great to see small businesses like this one move away from single-use plastic utensils and cups for diners. Overall, there’s potential here, but some adjustments would really elevate the experience.

The food took a long time to arrive, with three meals being served at different times. Interestingly, a takeout order was cooked before the meals for those dining in the restaurant. The fried chicken was excellent, but the pulled pork sandwich was disappointing. The beef brisket was just okay, and I didn't enjoy the baby back ribs at all.

MadJacks catered a large event for us (120 people) in October of 2018. The food was absolutely terrific, the service was to match that and the people involved, from Sarah as organizer to the events people on the night, were both friendly and highlycompetent. I received many compliments and positive comments on both, during and after the event. Highly recommended.

I came across some negative reviews but decided to give the restaurant a chance anyway. We ordered the pulled pork dinners. The mashed potatoes are packed with garlic - they're not terrible, but they're not great either. The beans are just average, but the pulled pork is honestly the worst I've ever had. The sauce tastes overwhelmingly like vinegar, making it hard for me to enjoy the meal. It might be better with a different sauce option.
