Bidrage med feedbackService in restaurant very poor sat over an hour waiting for a meal then to be told my meal of soup and cottage pie were nor available when I complained the owner said I should understand she was on her own why should that effect me if you are offering a service do it .we had booked a two night stay ,beds were not made after 1st night only tea coffee tray topped up.
We decided to stop for Sunday lunch at the County, the sign indicated carvery for £14.95 a head. It was just after 12 (sign said lunch served from 12 so we went in. The lady waiting on (Marj ? greeted us and said it would be about half an hour for food if we didn’t mind waiting. We were in no rush so took a seat. On first impressions the dining area looks lovely. Closer inspection (while you wait! the upholstery on the chairs needs a thorough clean, the paint on the walls needs updating and the floor boards securing (every time someone passed our table it moved! It seems locals go here often and the atmosphere was relaxed. There was a birthday party in the nearby function room and this must have put a pressure on the kitchen. Veg started to be put on the hot plate after about a 50 minute wait and eventually, an hour and 10 Minutes after being seated the food started to come through. A choice of three meats (turkey/beef or gammon . The meats were very well cooked and were tender and moist, however the smallest portions seen. Plenty of veg to choose from and these were kept topped up. Yorkshire puddings were massive (and nice! most diners left after the main course, we had a dessert (jam sponge bought in, definitely not home made. The wait staff were efficient and friendly, let down only by the kitchen and the pressure of a party happening at the same time as lunch. We don’t think there was £15 worth of a carvery, which was a shame as it tasted nice.
Stayed here for B B one night on our way to Scotland as a convenient distance from motorway. We were given a larger family room was clean and bed comfy, we had a good quiet nights sleep. As we were delayed due to an accident on the way, I was able to notify them and receive a reply which was reassuring. We wanted to leave early morning so Tina agreed to make a tray up for breakfast to take to our room for us to have at our leisure.. There was plenty to eat, bananas, grapes, apples and peaches, cereal, bread, jam, honey, ready wrapped pastry chocolate crepe. We arranged for a bucket of ice to keep the dairy cool which worked well. We were too late to eat in the restaurant. Carnforth is a pretty town.
Dropped in on Sunday 11th 2023 with our friends. Had superb service, very well looked after, thank you Emily for all your hard work, such a lovely person. Credit where it’s due we all had a great meal. Two beef roast dinners, gammon roast a steak and ale PIR. All 4 meals where top notch, good portions and well presented so chef well done your a credit to your profession. Lots of car parking, lovely and clean and top quality restrooms. Would recommend, we visiting friends again soon so will re-visit. Thank you for our expertise.
The worst restaurant I’ve been to in a while! Looks lovely from the outside but service is shocking. Me and 17 others had booked a birthday meal expecting to each have a cavery. To start off, we waited around 10 mins to receive a menu. Drinks arrived over the course of about 15 minutes. (There was one other family in the restaurant) when drinks finally arrived, the young man that brought them looked absolutely gormless and miserable. The restaurant could only serve about 6 of us a cavery before running out of food. The 6 that managed to get a cavery said the meat was flavourless and dry. Food was Luke warm. The range of veg and other cavery bits is very limited. The manager cried and said she’s “not a people’s person” and said she’s actually a nail tech??? She then rang her sister because she was “having a bad day” and stated it was not her fault and passed the blame onto anyone but herself. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all
