Bidrage med feedbackWe were looking for a pasta restaurant on Sunday night when most restaurant were closed and we found La Madonnina. The place is nice, with a balcony. The food is average, I ordered a fettuccine with mushrooms (much pasta and few mushrooms) that was tasty and my husband pasta Carbonara (the bacon was really fatty). The house wine is not good but the price overall was fair, 20 Euros all together.
Tasty pizza but under cooked for my taste. Excellent location right on Il Corso but worth looking elsewhere if you are after a great pizza.
We were there during the summer when they had outside tables on a terrace. The food is simple calabrese food but done with fresh ingredients and a lot of tender ministrations by the chef. It is located across from a statue of the madonna on a pedistal on piazza ardito. The prices are very reasonable. Nicastro is my father's home town and we have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed.
My husband and I stopped here for lunch while in Nicastro. This was where my grandmother was born so it had special meaning to stop here. The pasta carbonara and the pasta with olives and mushrooms were perfecto. The walls are lined with photos of the area where you can see the changes over the years. Family-run place and very reasonably priced.
