Mar Azul - Lambeth

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. Giving it two stars might even be too generous. I stopped by on a Tuesday on my way home from work, as it is located near Cafe Portugal and other Portuguese places in Vauxhall. However, this restaurant was nothing like those other establishments. The restaurant seemed a bit run-down, with no visible food or drink license or rating displayed. It may seem random, but not being able to see the restaurant's rating is a red flag for me. Only two other customers were dining while I was there, and they did not look pleased. The kitchen seemed disorganized and my order was poorly prepared. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

My experience at Mar Azul was a bit mixed. The atmosphere and staff were amazing, and the restaurant was fun with live music in the evenings. However, I had some issues with the food. For example, a strawberry cheesecake that was more like a berry mousse. I also found the stuffed steak to be too salty for my taste. While I may not completely rule out going back, I was left somewhat disappointed.

I must say I have mixed feelings regarding mar azul, the atmosphere and the personal are amazing and restaurant is fun, they often have live music in the evenings, so there really has a bit of everything at all my visit there was always a problem in my eyes eating with. for example, a strawberry cheesecake, which was not really a cheesecake, but rather an earthberry mousse. that would not have been a problem, but if the menu says, cheesecake I expect to get a cheesecake another time when I found the stuffed steak, it is quite salty, now this is personal preference, someone else could have found it perfect. We were here for our Valentine's Day on a weekend afternoon. we are both massive seafood lovers and Portuguese cuisine would remember one of his home. Nice, it was a brilliant choice! at the beginning, decent choice of the weine, we asked to go a few crispy white with the seafoods and it was perfect. for beginners we ordered some mosquitoes in garlic olive oil, white wine broth, with coriander together with very fresh king grilled in a tasteful garlic butter sauce unforgettable! for the net he ordered a grilled cod with hot olive oil, garlic, served with punched kartoffels and I went for a charcoal grilled meeresbass. the cod was cooked for perfection with all the aromes...read more
