Bidrage med feedbackI'm originally from Southern California. Mexican food is usually a hit and miss in Florida. But the Mega Mercado brings me home. The food is cheap and delicious. Fresh tortilla chips and salsa are brought to your table when you arrive. And you can order a number of different aguas frescas drinks. I usually order tacos de carne asada, but I have tried the tortas, sopes, chimichanga, tostadas, campechana, tacos birria, flautas, menudo, etc. Of course this place is not disappointed. I've read ppl complaining about the service, but I never had problems. When you arrive during the rush hour, you expect to wait....but it is worth it.
Excellent! So good. Some of the best I had in a while. The guacamole and salsa were hard to eat.... Service was also excellent!
Mega Mercado is one of my favorite restaurants in Lakeland. The food is always on the point and the portions are on the edge of the extreme. Your chips are quite the best. If I can give you advice, it wouldn't be hungry. If you arrive hungry, you will reach the Hangry status before you get your food. It is a super busy place and it is very much organized chaos. I came to expect this so that it doesn't bother me. The final result makes it all worth it so definitely give Mega Mercado an attempt!
I have two tips for you; one: get an order of 4 5 Mexican style Barbacoa Tacos you will absolutely desire that you can only cost ONE more, and two: if you don't speak Spanish, patience and courtesy will go a long way. This restaurant is operated by hardworking predominantly Spanish speaking families. They will give you some of the best food you ever eat on American soil and offer you a small dose of authentic Mexican culture. P.S. Sorry, I forgot this tip: Diving You the tacos in the chip salsa holy moly fantastic
Literally the best Mexican place in the world. Best tacos ever and best pastries ever. I just wished I knew how to speak Spanish so I could fit in more but I love the feel of the place
