Bidrage med feedbackI visited the restaurant specifically for the menu I found online, but when I arrived, it was different from what I expected. Their strict no-substitutions policy made it quite challenging to overlook this issue.
I had an incredible experience at the restaurant! The pork chop was cooked to perfection, but the real highlight was the butternut squash and Brussels sprouts—they were like candy for vegetables! My fiancé couldn’t get enough of them. His filet was also quite good, but the pork definitely took center stage. The kofta was tasty, but I must say, the cottage cheese dill rolls were absolutely worth the carbs. I’m so thrilled to have discovered a place in Lake Geneva that my fiancé actually enjoys, aside from Gino’s East. We will definitely be back! And let’s not forget to mention the stunning view at sunset—it’s unbeatable!
Although I enjoy my time at Lake Geneva, it can sometimes feel a bit dry and pretentious. However, Savoy was a delightful experience, thanks to our fantastic server and the delicious food. The menu changes frequently, but during our visit, we enjoyed a steak, a scallop, and a duck entrée that was tender, flavorful, and not gamey at all. For appetizers, we tried a beet slaw, dill rolls, and what tasted like a steak queso (which wasn’t on the Spring menu). I feel bad for not remembering our server's name; he and his brother work at the restaurant (his brother was a busser). I gave Savoy four stars because while we ordered the steak rare, it arrived a bit overcooked, though still very tasty. The lake views were also a lovely bonus!
I was really pleased to see gluten-free labels on the menu, but I was disappointed that there were no gluten-free dessert options available. A fruity twist on crème brûlée or a chocolate hazelnut mousse would be perfect! Also, the exterior of the restaurant is not very well lit at night, which made it tricky for us and other cars to find the entrance. Once inside, the entry area feels a bit stark and overly bright, which is a stark contrast to the charming and quaint exterior. They could improve the ambiance by dimming the lights and creating a more inviting entryway. However, once you get past the host stand and the entryway, the interior is beautifully decorated, blending rustic and nautical styles with plenty of windows showcasing the lake view. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food was top-notch. We will definitely return and recommend it to our guests!
We began our meal with cocktails. I ordered the Spicy Margarita, which was a recent addition to the menu. The bartender checked in on it and asked if it was too spicy—I actually wished it had been much spicier! I also tried the Blackberry Old Fashioned, which was absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we had sourdough bread with pumpkin chutney. It was definitely something unique that I hadn’t experienced before, and I really enjoyed it. As my main course, I chose the pork chop, which had a nice sweetness to it. It was excellent, and I would highly recommend it! That said, the other dishes on the menu also looked very tempting. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend Savoy if you're looking for a dining experience that feels a bit more upscale!
