Bidrage med feedbackI'll miss Anthony's. It was always a superb experience in supper club dining. So many memories over the nearly 30+ years I've been there. Great food, great people and fantastic service. I'll treasure the times I was there always.
Got the salmon Greek style and it was amazing. Our drinks never went completely empty staff were right there to swap it for a fresh one. And the atmosphere is nostalgic with the old style restaurant and customer service we used to have.
Had a classic supper club experience at Anthony’s. Ambiance is right from 1970 a bit tired but so fitting. Full scale supper club menu with cocktails, fancy appetizers, steaks, ribs, seafood, etc. Attentive service from a well seasoned staff. Tenderloin and walleye dinners were perfectly cooked and presented. Fully priced, but nicely delivered.
My “better half and I” were celebrating our sixty-seventh wedding anniversary and we were looking for “one of the old type of supper clubs”. We lived in the MSP area for years and one of our favorites there was Charlie’s Supper Club that was unfortunately closed with the construction of then I-35 Interstate. We “scouted” the Lake Geneva area and even stopped for a refreshment at Anthony’s the previous night, The food was great staring with a loaf of warm bread and a vegetable dish that was on our table very soon as we were seated. Our selection was roast duck for my wife and frog legs for me. The duck was roasted to perfection and I had more frog legs than I could devour at the meal; we both took “doggie bags” home with us. Our waitress was named Janine (I hope I have that correct) with a great personality. She seemed to anticipate our “wants” and did not interrupt our “special evening”. Was it “over-priced”? Was the food as desired? We both thought that it was what one would expect for a dining experience such as Anthony’s. If we didn’t live over two hundred miles away, we would certainly make Anthony’s a regular dining experience.
Great service, sub par food. This place needs a MAJOR remodel. Reminds me of an early 80's Chicago Steakhouse. Very dark, sunken bar when you walk in, old servers, well liquors. Dining room us just as dark. While our server was very attentive the food was comparable to Denny's. Frozen fries, dry steak, bagged salads, store bought dressing. Only open for dinner. When it's closed the entire property appears to be abandoned with weeds growing through the parking lot concrete. Sad.
