Brileys Bbq Grill - Lake Forest Park

Most amazing BBQ I have ever had so far in life. Never been to the south so I don’t really have much to compare it to. Flavors are amazing, packaging for to go orders are thoughtful. Portions for price is really awesome—each “meal” here is basically two meals (IMO). So for 15 bucks I have dinner and lunch the next day, which is a win to me. The standout aside from the pulled pork, chicken and brisket was the hush puppies, cornbread and the jalapeño sausage. All packed with flavor, a hint of spice and texture is heavenly. Fluffiest cornbread I’ve ever had. Will be going again!! Mac n cheese was bland, but that’s actually apparently important with BBQ, having less flavorful sides so the proteins really stand out I guess? Not a big deal, but I’d pass on it. Also not a huge fan of tv’s in restaurants but also I get that a lot of sports fans love it so not a huge dealbreaker for most, nor me since the food is so dang good.

Coming from the South, I’ve been looking for good barbecue here for a long time. I’ve tried many places and most get something right but it still doesn’t taste like BBQ should, in my opinion. The BRISKET here was PHENOMENAL!! You know the meat is on point when you don’t need sauce to flavor it. The sliced brisket was seasoned to perfection, moist, and with a crispy edge. I can’t say enough good things about it. The brisket chili and banana pudding were dynamite as well…all while looking over a beautiful view of Lake Washington. Kudos y’all! One negative is the parking but not much you can do about that.

It’s almost unfair to rate the service and atmosphere because nobody comes here for either of those. It’s all about the BBQ, and considering we’re in Seattle, it’s very good. In fact, I think they’ve gotten even better post-pandemic.m, if that’s possible. The brisket is amazing. The spicy bbq sauce has a little heat, which my whole family likes. My wife remarked yesterday that the side dishes are better than the last few times we ordered. She’s right. Best bargain on the menu is a pulled pork sandwich with a side. Delicious. Will definitely be back!
