Darrell's - Lake Charles

Surf and turf poboys from here are worth a drive. I frequently travel from Beaumont TX thru Lake Charles and always stop here when I can. I just can't appreciate ordinary poboys anymore after eating here. They come with a gravy on them, so be prepared to make a mess… If you're a coward you could get your gravy on the side though....

If you haven't had Darrell's special, you're missing out! You gotta have it with the jalapeno mayo!!!

Food and service were great! Restaurant was kind of loud because it was full.

So, I finally got a chance to have lunch here and it wasn’t a disappointment by any stretch of the imagination. Very clean well set up establishment with a short menu but definitely has something for everyone. I had the Surf n turf poboy. It was a classic French poboy bun with homemade roast beef and grilled shrimp, dripping with roast beef gravy. A messy but VERY tasty very well seasoned combination.
