Kobe Japanese Steak House - Lahaina

Expensive for the portions. My sushi I ordered before the meal came at the end of the meal. The wait staff asked if we wanted fried rice which said on the menu the meal came with rice and then we were all charged an additional $4 for the rice. Kind of crazy when it’s already $30-50 a plate. The food was okay, nothing amazing but it was entertaining having them cook it in front of you.

The garlic rice was very good. I had scallops and opakapaka (red snapper). My husband had terriaki chicken and filet minon and we were not disappointed. All delicious!

This is a hibachi place. We’re from the New York/New Jersey area and when the name has steakhouse in it we’re expecting a steakhouse. This a hibachi restaurant. The food was fine and exactly what you would expect from a hibachi place but not from a steakhouse. It’s not bad but it’s hibachi lol.

We had an older gentleman as our chef and he was hilarious!

Our chef was fun, and cooked everything perfectly. Upgrade your steak to filet with the shrimp, and try the garlic fried rice!
