Bidrage med feedbackI was not very impressed. We happened to be passing by and decided to try this place because it had the highest rated reviews for sushi in the area. Unfortunately, the food was just average, and the service left a lot to be desired. The waitress with short hair appeared impatient with us right from the start when we were trying to order drinks. We were all taken aback when she kept walking away before we could finish our order. It felt quite strange, and eventually, another staff member took over. I don’t think I would return, but I’m giving it a few stars because the other waitress was friendly and accommodating.
If you're in Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, or Aliso Viejo and craving some delicious vegan-friendly sushi, this is the place to be! The restaurant offers a fantastic fusion of sushi with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, all served with a friendly smile. You can also catch your favorite sports on a large TV while enjoying your meal and drinks—this sushi spot truly has it all. My kids love sitting near the aquarium while they eat, and the owner and staff are incredibly welcoming, ensuring great service every time. I really enjoy the atmosphere during my visits. While the interior might be a bit dated, it doesn't bother me at all for a casual family dinner.
We were in search of sushi after a day of furniture shopping at Furniture Row and decided to do a quick Yelp search. That's how we discovered this restaurant. Although we frequently visit the shopping center for boba tea at ChaPlus, we had never tried this place before. I'm really glad we did, as the fish was fresh, the portions were generous, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly. It was quite busy, which is a good sign that it's a popular spot with the locals. While I didn't take a picture of it, I highly recommend trying the cucumber salad and the shrimp tempura appetizer. We also ordered salmon sashimi, and it was thick, tender, and not at all stringy. We're so happy we found this place, and we will definitely be returning!
I've been to Kin Sushi twice now and I really enjoyed it. The service is friendly and efficient. I asked if they offered Omakase and after checking with the chef they said yes and provided me with a price. They have Omanake choices of different sizes and I selected the 12 piece. Every bite was fresh and tasty. I especially enjoyed the Hokkaido scallop with truffle. My only complaint is that the play cable news on their TV. It's a bummer to watch that while you're eating. I had to ask to sit at a booth instead of the bar so I wasn't facing the TV.
This place has easy potential to be a 5 star restaurant but it has one big very important hinderance.....the smell. We got sat right away but we're left for about 7-8 minutes before our waitress finally came over. The food selection was great, and they have a good amount of rolls that do not use a bunch of immigration crab as filler which is sometimes a lazy way to create some sushi rolls. Their Kin roll was amazing and they also have a few bento boxes you can choose from. The main deterrents was mediocre service which I can let slide, but what is way harder to ignore was the smell of musty old kitchen towels and dirty cleaner. It punched me in the face as soon as I walked in and almost made me want to turn around and go right back out. Hopefully this was a one time thing and the place does not always have this smell because their food was great. It may just have to be a good takeout spot and not dine in.
