Bidrage med feedbackDo you have any food allergies? Thoughtful question by my host. I have none. So we ended up here. Mini feast fast for 3. Tasteful dishes. Lovely ambience. Well maintained actually because I was here in 2012 and it still looks good. Toilet was clean and staff were really responsive. Parking spaces may be an issue though they have a way of making it work. I can 't talk about pricing, someone else paid (my host), but she would have let me know if it were overpriced.
This is a nice and cozy restaurant in Victoria Island Lagos. Wonderful customer service and a serene ambience. It is a good location to host a few friends and have a very small party. The parking lot is just outside the building but it's a bit hilly. Overall, it's a great place to be and the food is really nice. I would love to go back there again.
Pearl Garden remains a standout choice for both family and business Chinese dining on Victoria Island. The service is flawless, with long-term staff providing excellent customer care, recognizing and warmly welcoming regular patrons. The food is of high quality—while it may be a bit pricey, it offers great value, being both flavorful and fresh. What’s not to love?
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere with high ceilings and Chinese decor. It can likely seat around 200 guests. The food is excellent, featuring Chinese dishes from various regions, but it is on the pricey side due to added VAT and a mandatory service charge. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. The staff needs to be more attentive and focus on their assigned tables instead of being distracted by celebrity sightings at other tables. The dim sum is particularly outstanding, and I would recommend trying a dim sum brunch there. However, I found the wine to be excessively expensive; I would rather stick to jasmine tea.
COVID-19 protocols are still in effect, requiring a temperature check and hand sanitizer application before being seated. I was part of a group dining experience and was escorted to the upstairs area, where I entered one of the private dining rooms typical of high-end Chinese restaurants. While the red carpet on the staircase added an elegant touch, it could use some updating as it appeared a bit faded and worn. The air conditioning upstairs was significantly more comfortable than downstairs, likely due to the enclosed nature of the private room. The food was excellent, starting with spring rolls that served as a delightful appetizer, followed by a well-presented main course and fresh fruit for dessert. The Chapman I ordered was equally impressive. The wait for the main course was approximately 45 minutes, but the service was efficient and well-organized. I did not visit the restroom, so I cannot comment on that aspect. Note that wheelchair access is available only on the ground floor, and there is no elevator. Parking is limited, and there was a noticeable lack of assistance for guests in that regard, which is a vital service detail that could be improved. Overall, I would recommend Pearl Garden as an excellent choice for an Oriental dining experience, particularly suitable for group gatherings rather than individual dining.
