Bidrage med feedbackMy children and I love coming to this cafe after visiting the library. It's great to have the option to sit outside in the Memorial gardens. The baked goods are delicious and they offer a good variety of herbal teas. However, during my last visit, when I asked for a glass of water with my order, I was told that they were not allowed to serve glasses of water. When I inquired further, the cashier simply shrugged and said they had juice and bottled water for sale. It seems unfair to deny someone a basic need like water, especially a young child. Water should always be offered at a food establishment. I refused to purchase a unnecessary bottle of water, so we left feeling disappointed and frustrated, with a thirsty child in tow.
The reason I went was for the unique curved windows that go ceiling high and look out unto the flower beds and Memorial Statue at the park in front of the cafe. The cafe also has a gorgeous fireplace that they turn on in the fall and winter chill. The tables are more cafeteria style though unfortunately. I had a coffee and a some cookies. It wasn't lunch when I went so I did not see a buffet. They had wrapped up sandwiches and other quick lunch items in the display shelf along with deserts. They had a limited menu . . The coffee was good and cookies were okay.A good place to stop in for a coffee.
While I have been here for coffee many times since it was taken over by new management they have added a wonderful buffet for the lunch hour that is absolutely delicious.
Great place to go for a lunch or coffee & desert with friends. The service is friendly. The food is good.
This cafe has been bought out by a catering company and is not longer the quaint, country cafe it was originally. A big buffet sits in the middle of the space now and the smells of meat and stale curry or soup fill the air. The old theme was great paninis and hot beverages. Really crowded now.
