Bidrage med feedbackBest food I've had since entering Quebec! Went there for lunch today and had the beat and goat cheese salad and added chicken.
I want to eat here because they serve the local Brome duckI ordered the breast à l'orange which came with rice and vegetables.
As this was one of the only place in town offering Brome duck on their menu, this is were we ended up going._We started with the Terroir plate, which was
Stopped in on a busy summer Saturday night - looking for the fictional bistro portrayed by Louise Penny. VERY busy, and consequently very loud (so pick your times if you want conversation with your meal!) - fun to watch groups of family and friends - there was a lot of rapid fire French and much laughter. Salad was fresh and crisp; the dressing was tasty; the entree of squash & sage ravioli was delicious. Had a nice glass of local red wine (large portion!) and decaf and carrot cake for dessert. I was made to feel welcome even though I was a solo diner with a book on a busy night. Would definitely go back - I wish I had found it earlier in my trip - was the best food from my stay in the region.
We are great fans of Lac Brome duck and had heard that Le Relais was a good place to have it. They prepared it nicely (duck confit), except that the duck itself was rather tasteless - the first time we have ever had that experience with Lac Brome duck. The orange sauce was also mediocre. Since my wife and both had the duck, I can't comment about other dishes here, and I sincerely hope that the duck we had was not the typical fare.
