Bidrage med feedbackDo not do business with these people! A confirmed, written reservation means nothing to Auburge du Joli Vent. We received our written confirmation with confirmation by email from Auburge du Joli Vent six weeks ahead of time. Two hours before we were due to check in, they called and told us they had overbooked and could not honor our reservation! They did help to find us other accommodations: for the same price they found a place that was in absolutely no way comparable 20 miles away. The poor desk clerk was left to deal with us. The Director at Auburge do Joli Vent would not make eye contact with us or speak to us. We had traveled all the way across the continent to be in Knowlton and our vacation plans were totally destroyed. We lost half a day just arguing with them and getting other vastly inferior accommodations. The compensation for our trouble: They offered us a cup of coffee!
Wow!!! This hidden gem offers great food in a rustic decor with friendly, personalized service... You will not be disappointed with anything here. This is a must visit when in the Eastern Townships...
What a wonderful, cozy inn with warm hospitality from the innkeepers Patricia and Hans. Decor inside and outside is beautiful, the grounds are magnificent and the food is delicious. Can't wait to go back!
Overall: Really pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The ambience was very peaceful and relaxing. Room was cozy. Do not forget to check the trails they have behind the protocol! You have to play soothing music while you run around. The restaurant is also quite delicious. In any case, it must remain. Key point: This Bed
We rented 5 out of the 12 rooms as a family weekend, it was our last time there. The place looks great and the restaurant food is good, but it felt like we couldn't do anything. There is a huge lack of information on their website. I would rent the restaurant 4/5 if it was apart from the rest. First of all, you can't make noise at all, even in your room, because someone will come to tell you to keep quiet (we don't even talk that loud, there just is no isolation whatsoever. Secondly you can't really drink and eat your stuff around the place because there is an expensive restaurant about one meter away from the shack and they don't want to see you nearby with your stuff (restaurant should be further away of the rooms, it's not well thought . Also, the pool and common areas are near the restaurant so some people don't want to use them. (The pool for instance is really close from the restaurant and closes early, not really fun to go there.. Lastly, it felt like the owner was always looking at what we were doing.. It's terrible when you pay about 2500$ for a family weekend, just to fell like you're being watched constantly. I would recommend the restaurant, but sadly I'd suggest agains't renting a room. There is a beautiful hotel about 5 min away.
