Sergio's Mexican - La Verne

We wanted to eat Ceveche so we decided to go in to check out Sergio s restaurant. We came in and they said sit any where. We looked and saw a separate room with Mexican icons on the wall and other non Mexican icons as well. They must of been busy because they had a long table that was stil messy with dirty plates and cups and their tips on the table. So did they have Ceveche?,nope. They Ran Out. But we stayed and ate their fish taco plate not bad. Will try Ceveche another day.

Hubby and I were craving Mexican food today for a late lunch early dinner and Yelp hooked it up again with a solid recommendation. The husband is very picky about his Mexican food and refuses to eat at any spot that cooks with lard (versus vegetable oil) and this place checked off all the right boxes. From the outside it appears to be a little hole in the wall as the entrance is small but there is quite a bit of seating inside and two patio tables outside. While the decor and seating inside is a little bit rundown, the delicious food and friendly service makes up for it. We both ordered fajitas he had chicken and I had steak which came with rice, beans, and tortillas. For $1 more you can upgrade to corn handmade tortillas which were so worth it! I ordered a small side salad to start which was pretty hearty and came with mixed greens, shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and your choice of dressing. We also ordered a cheese enchilada ala cart (which was good but not worth the price point). Overall we enjoyed the meal and appreciated the friendly service. It wasn't busy today but the server shared that Taco Tuesday gets hectic and Friday nights. There's some limited parking in front and additional parking in the rear. We will definitely be back sometime when we are in the area.

I love Sergio's! It's consistently good food and even better service! All of the servers and chefs and workers are so kind and accommodating. There's usually ample seating and it's a nice atmosphere. I would always recommend Sergio's for a nice little sit down Mexican restaurant. Good food. Good people. Love it.

Easy to find on a Friday during dinner time. Wait Time: No wait for a party of 2 with a completely full restaurant. Bar seating also available. Greeted and seated immediately by owner. Very friendly staff, family oriented and speedy service. Clean bathrooms. Enchilada and Shredded Beef Taco combo plate was good, frijoles were creamy and delicious but the rice could use a little more flavor. Taquito combo plate came with rice, beans and a side of guacamole. Taquitos were decent, guacamole was made perfectly, just added a little bit of salt. On a scale 0-10 with 10 being the best, I'd give this place a 6.

VEGAN Review Didn't eat here but 5 stars for customer service. I called to ask what was in their veggie burrito: pico de gallo, rice, beans, and cheese. They cook their rice with chicken broth and their beans contain lard so unfortunately there are no vegan options here.
