Metamec - La Rochelle

Yes we found this place by accident and were indeed glad we did. It was just across the road from Hotel en Ville, a little off the main drag (you are indeed spoilt for choice in La Rochelle . We two couples had a lovely meal and very pleasant evening sitting outside, soaking up the extremely pleasant French atmosphere (soaking up a little vino too! . It really is a little gem Jermaine was great entertainment not sure if he is one of the owners but he certainly is value for money. Enjoyed a pastis with him later after our girls had gone to bed a memorable nightcap! Cheers Statham Coventry

Run by a couple of relaxed guys, this place was opposite to where we were staying. I am pleased to say. Fell in for an appero, ended up eating a variety of goodies. And visited several times after. Cool music, nice atmosphere. None of the touristic hype, even well patronised during an unseasonable snow blizzard. Great find

Good choice of natural wine. We have feasted on a hilly beef. We arrived early, left late... an excellent evening!
