Cafe Maria - La Paz

Cafe maria is a must. a true hidden gem of los barriles. wonderful Mexican food and the best frozen margaritas of all time!

I couldn't say enough nice things about the restaurant of the food. This is a family run small restaurant, off the beaten path but well worth finding. I always go here for Chilequilles verde, with chicken. IT'S THE BEST. GREAT SERVICE, HAPPY PEOPLE!

We were the only table in the restaurant. my man ordered fishtacos and asked if the fish are cooked on the grid board, not fried. it came with deep fritted fishing. the teig was rough, too thick, like glue, while I wait for my plate. I picked up the dough. there was hardly any fish--4X the teig as fish. the server said he did. that's all. I think he forgot to order my enchiladas. I asked for a to-go box to take my dinner home when it ever came. the rest of our group was almost ready to go, and then my enchiladas finally arrived. I was so hungry. I woke her up. the red sauce is delicious-so my enchiladas were redeemed, but not enough. we will never go back.

Stopped in for a quick bite after kite boarding. Food was fresh, tasty, and of a better quality than we have experienced in most of Mexico. Fantastic value. It was exceeded only by the service. Attentive and super friendly.

This restaurant was highly recommended by the owner of our vacation home and it was worth seeking out. The place is sparkling clean with a large menu and the food was delicious We only saw Maria once as she was in the kitchen making sure the quality of the food was at her high standard. The place is on the north side of town, up about 3 blocks on a dirt road with a sign on the right hand side, but the restaurant right across the street. It is a nice break from "Mexican" to more modern.
