Le Comptoir des Tontons - La Palme

Stayed in Le Palme for 1 week, we chose to eat here 5 days out of 7. Attentive and very pleasant staff and owner, good menu, special offers. Food quality is excellent, rivals many other restaurants with big reputations in other locations. Has a very friendly unique charm and warm hospitality. Great selection of local wines and beers. All things considered, a great place to eat and while away the hours

We were staying in La Palme for almost a week and we visited Le Comptior twice. Turned out that a young Parisian couple had taken over the place and had been open for just one week. The first night, after a minor accident were the matron broke one of our glasses while cleaning out the table, she compensated with coffee. To us it was no biggie as it was an true accident and no one was injured but she was mortified. The food was great as well as the atmosphere and service. The second evening they had a a special bbq-menue of great value. 3 courses a drink for only 28 €. The food was awsome as well as the servise. The owner was relieved that we dared to return after our first visit. : . If you're in town or just passing looking for great French cooking, this is the place to visit!

We had 3 courses from the menu, out on the terrace. Then we found out, unfortunately after we had passed the orders, that there was a special offer of lobster, which was not announced until after the chef came out to tell the staff they should. We had mussels, fish and meat with huge desserts, which were all cooked to perfection. But after we had paid, we found out that there was a special price for 3 choices from the menu, which we were not told, so we actually paid too much, and no one mentioned it to us. The ladies serving the food are friendly, but seem a bit awkward with non French people even when you do speak French well.

Super restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere. The food was sublime, we all had something different and none of us wanted to swap! A word of caution, the portions are huge, 3 courses was a struggle, but we manfully stuck to our task! ! We will definitely be back.
