I stopped by for lunch and tried the BBQ pork fried rice, chicken wings, and BBQ pork, which were all quite good. However, the egg foo young was bland, and the spring roll was very basic, so I won't be ordering those again. I might try the other dishes again because of the reasonable prices. Just a heads up—it's cash only, so be prepared. Service was quick.

The food here is excellent! Just a heads up, they only accept cash. I usually walk here for lunch on weekdays and always order the #1. A full belly makes for a happy life!

I ordered Combo 1, which included fried rice, BBQ pork pieces, two chicken wings, and two fried dumplings. The fried rice was really tasty, but the BBQ pork was simply AMAZING. I usually don’t care for pork, but I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The pork was outstanding. They provide soy sauce to enhance the flavor of the rice, and while I did try it with the sauce, I actually preferred the rice without it. The chicken wings were decent but quite salty, and the dumplings were a bit confusing but still enjoyable. I will definitely return to try more of their offerings!

Mom was a real critic about Restaurant Essen and she loved this place. I can see why. BBQ pork seems to be her signature court. Try it.

Best bang for your buck when it comes to budget friendly Chinese food! The BBQ pork is on point too!
