Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I, along with another couple, were looking forward to a special dinner at the renowned La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla. Although we had originally wanted to dine at the Whaling Bar, it was fully booked so we ended up at Cafe La Rue instead. Initially, our server seemed friendly, but the service soon went downhill. He neglected to ask if we wanted another drink, offer wine with our meal, or clear our wine glasses and extra plates. He came across as snobbish and we felt ignored. However, the food was superb, particularly the Keylime Pie which was delicious. We were especially impressed by Jesus, the tableside salad maker, who was extremely professional, friendly, and had a charming personality. He has been with La Valencia for an impressive 28 years! Although our server's poor service dampened our evening, we still plan to return to have drinks at the Whaling Bar and request Jesus to make our salads. Despite the disappointing service, we still believe La Valencia is a truly special place.
We had a terrible experience at this restaurant! We chose it for our Valentine's Day dinner and despite having reservations, we were seated on the patio, far from a heat lamp. The 4 course meal was $65 per person, which seemed quite expensive for a "special." The service was incredibly slow, with the first course taking 30 minutes to arrive. We spent over 2 hours waiting for our food, and had to ask for our 4th course and check at the same time to speed things up. Once we moved inside due to the cold, our waitress ignored us and we had to ask another waitress for our 3rd course, which was lukewarm. Although a lady gave roses to all the women in the restaurant, she missed our table until we were one of the last couples there. As we left, we were finally given a rose, but it felt like an afterthought. It seemed like they were trying to get rid of the roses before closing, and we couldn't help but notice that another Asian couple also did not receive a rose. This was our first time dining in downtown La Jolla and we were disappointed to not receive the same treatment as other guests, regardless of age or race. Everyone deserves equal and excellent service.
After a few years to eat returned in cafe la rue. better cook, menu, service than in the previous years!
The pink lady drink was just beautiful, I enjoyed it. a dollar of each sale of the pink lady will benefit the susan g komen foundation until 31. oktober.
Slow service and it was only 30 full. I tried to make a reservation for 7 o'clock, but the dame on the phone said it must be 6:45 or 8 bc, that's her.
