Tom Sawyer's Grill - La Crosse

Went in the other night for dinner and drinks. Our server Dag was great. We got the fish fry. Best fish in La Crosse! Great experience overall!

Great food and drinks, server Meisha the best! Parking down the street highly recommended their parking lot is really small.

The food was terrible. The nachos we ordered as an appetizer came out after our entrees. The chips on the nachos were so overcooked that they tasted burnt, and almost no cheese. We couldn't eat it. Two of us ordered burgers, one medium rare, the other medium. Both came out beyond well done. The outsides of the patties were crunchy. Neither one of us could eat ours. My wife got a salad that she said was OK. I would have expected our server to notice that we were done with our plates after barely eating any of it and follow up. At least the atmophere outside by the marina is nice. I don't think I'll be going back.

Basic bar food. Margaritas were the special, my sister's bday. Had to run across the street to get mix for her 2nd one at noon. Don't have a special if you don't have the goods. Took 30 min to get her 2nd drink. Had lunch was just ok. Nice waiter. Not his fault.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. The drink I ordered was terrible; it had a bad taste and was missing ingredients. To make matters worse, the server forgot to bring forks and knives for our entire table. The food was an absolute disaster. The broccoli was completely burned and looked like a piece of charcoal. The restroom was also poorly maintained, with no paper towels available. If you're a local and this is your only option, you might think it's decent. However, as someone traveling from a town with many great dining options, I can confidently say that even one star is overrated for this place. Avoid this restaurant if you can.
