Monasterio La Aldea

I 've seen the place many times, never kind of thought it was my style. On saturday night we went there as everywhere else was very busy, and surprise! The staff was very nice to us, close and attentive. We expected the food to take a while, so once again the staff surprised us with some tapas while we waited for the food, rhey have a proper sort of beers. It wasn 't overpriced and we ended up very happy in general. We will repeat soon. Thank you!

Had an ok pizza and bear. Not expensive. But this is not a 5 star place. I wonder if they changed the menu since the old reviews?

Great service and a killer mojito. Very friendly staff! Excellently situated on a quiet street by the church. Loved it.

Simply the best place we encountered in Grand Canaria, period. Certainly an unexpected gem in a slow rural town of La Aldea, Monasterio offers a great chill-out atmosphere with a nice selection of Canarian craft beers, superb assortment of gins, lushy coctails, and snacks to die for. It entices you with its Buddha-barish visage and rich cultural and entertainment offer, topping it off with a super hospitable attitude of the owner Francis and his family. Francis is a treasure trove of knowledge about La Aldea and Gran Canaria in general, and his optimism and joie de vivre (based on his rich life experiences) are simply infectious. Monasterio we couldn’t recommend more, being it for spoiling your pallet, having a taste from the great selection of drinks, or just to spend your afternoons and evenings in a wonderful relaxing atmosphere.
