Bidrage med feedbackAwesome place! Cool music, delicious food, great ambiance, the staff look really happy. I just left the place and I feel so good. Really clean too. Highly recommended!
My Phone died and they were helping me to Charge It, staff and owner are super lovely Great Beers and Food. Sehr empfehlenswert, guter Besitzer und cooler Vibe!
Decent jerk chicken and chicken curry. It's located just off the beaten path, so it wasn't crowded at all. You still get to watch people walk by, just not the tourist horde. No craft beer, which I was hoping for, but all in all a good place for lunch.
I had a great meal here when I was in Japan! The atmosphere is very inviting and a nice change of pace from traditional Japan. The food took a little bit but was worth it! I had the Ham Cheese sandwich combo and it was delicious! Highly recommend their potato fries. The staff was also super friendly; plus free wifi.
This little watering hole is a great spot to stop in for a quick, but delicious bite and cold drink after a day of walking and sightseeing in the Arashiyama area. Located right next to the train station, it’s convenient too. But what I love most about this place is the good food and warm hospitality and also the genuine quirkiness and character that it embraces. As you approach the place, you see an inviting bistro style table and chairs outside. You might even notice their upscale sign with a glowing INITY that looks like it was pulled off the front of an upscale nightclub. But look more closely and you’ll begin to see the place’s true character. Right next to the respectable INITY sign is another that boasts ‘Hot beer, lousy food, bad service – welcome’ and below that is a chalkboard with a handwritten (all in English) quote about ‘dinosaurs didn’t drink beer, now they’re extinct.’ On the day I visited, Reggae music was pouring out adding to the juxtaposition of impressions and inviting us inside. When you walk in, the walls are not much more than particle board, covered with more random posters and signs including a quote by Frank Sinatra. Then you’ll see the small bar, maybe 4 to 6 seats, and a smiling and welcoming bartender. We ordered some beer (cold, contrary to their sign) and some food that was surprisingly good. Then the bartender and I pulled out our Google Translate apps and began to have a conversation, each taking turns to enter something in our native language and waiting while the other read the interpretation. Our host ended up pouring himself a beer to drink with us as we listened to Reggae and continued to build a friendship. If we ever make it back to Arashiyama, this will be a definite on our list of stops!
