Bidrage med feedbackTenkaippin is a famous ramen restaurant in Japan. It is started from here. Enjoy original ramen and other dishes. I recommend visiting this place on October 1st as a day of Tenkaippin. Because “Ten” means 10 equal to October and “Ippi” means first day of the month. You can get a free Ramen coupon this day. Enjoy!
A series of dinners include a bowl of delicious ramen, a bowl of white rice/fried rice, and a dish of gyoza. What can you say? One of the top lists of foods in my trip to Japan several times. Note: The Ramen soup is speciality with some Salty Egg I love most.
Two word : beef tendons. The best beef tendons that you will find in Kyoto! This being the main shop serves a nice ramen with beef tendons only available in this shop) and you should order a side dish of beef tendons cos you won't get enough of it. That's the only reason I keep coming back to this shop. It only doesn't get 5 stars as the ramen broth is inconsistent where you never know if it's going to be thick or thin.
We tried Tenkaippin's signature ramen, one with normal broth and one with extra-thick broth. The normal one was not bad, but not outstanding. Noodles are chewy but the chashu seemed run of the mill. The extra-thicc one was more interesting, halfway between a ramen broth and stew texture. It may be a little too rich, would recommend ordering the small portion.
We were taken here by friends who live in Kyoto and weren 't disappointed by a delicious ramen. My husband had the standard 'rich ' version of the soup, while I went for the medium level medium is definitely recommended! We also had their karaage chicken, which was great.
