La Bombance Gion - Kyoto

We absolutely adore this charming and top-notch restaurant in Kyoto. Having dined here in December 2022, we decided to return in early August 2023. Once again, the food was exceptional, the chef friendly and engaging (despite language barriers, he uses an electronic translator). He was delighted to see us return. The food presentation is exquisite, with subtle and delightful aromas. We highly recommend this intimate spot with only 6 seats at the counter, offering a lot of interaction with the chef!

Amazing Kaiseki Food!!! This little eatery is hard to find but difficult not to enjoy!!! The flavors and artistic culinary creations were fantastic! The chef was funny and charming as were the rest of the staff. Masterful craft here!!! You must try!!!

Our thanks to the chef and his staff for the wonderful experience . This was without a doubt one of the best meals we have ever had. As a German living in the US and traveling extensively through Europe as well as North and South America I have had many great meals and this one is definitely in the top 3. Well worth the price.

The food was amazing and the chef and staff were so friendly and funny! Highly recommend if you want a more modern feel to Japanese food.

Unique dining experience! We were a party of four and had the staff all dedicated to us. The place can only host 6 and it was only us that night. Chef is not only talented but also very nice and funny. We had a personalized menu. We learned a lot about Japanese fine cuisine. Dish presentation was so beautiful. We really enjoyed our time there. It’s expensive but worth it considering we had a private chef that night.
