Fu-ka Ginkakuji - Kyoto

Incredible tasty home style food in the back alley of the Ginkakuji Temple. The café is a bit from the main road, but it is worth finding it. It is guided by a very friendly couple, and the food was above any expectation. I got an omelet with rice “omuraisu” and it had delicate, soft texture and mild taste that I enjoyed until the last bite it was amazingly delicious. Very recommended!

This was completely different from Omelette-rice I had previously eaten. I liked the balance of the fluffy soft egg with a feeling of mustard butter on the white rice. The cook was very friendly. Very recommended!!! If you go to Ginkakuji, you should be over!!

We found this place completely random and so glad we did. The place is amazing. The owners were super nice. The food is amazing. Japanese Yoshuku style food. We had the hamburger and rice set, a Katsu curry and an egg sandwich. We have eaten many eggs in Japan as we really enjoy Omerice, but the egg in the egg sandwich was the best omelet we had so far. The Hamburg steak was wagyu and was melted well in the mouth. It came in a stew of mushrooms and eggplants. The curry was Japanese style and very tasty. The Katsu was very crispy. This place is a must when you come to the Ginkaku-ji or are in East Kyoto. Make the trip, you will not be disappointed.

I saw this kind of western Japanese restaurant in TV much and that is what I expect that the food would taste like great food great service great price

Simply amazing. A small restaurant owned by a lady and her husband. The food is cooked with heart and the couple is super nice. I would highly recommend and would come back again. I got the omurice and the donkatsu. The egg on the omurice is sooo soft and is to die for. And the donkatsu is super crispy and somehow light. I did not feel greasy or heavy after eating and was left super satisfied. Price is a bargain
