Chacha Stand Shichijō-shinmachi

We went at 6:00 and got the only 2 places that were not reserved. So lucky! I have read the lowest reviews before entering and I was a bit worried, but I found that the low reviews are all very misleading and based on misunderstanding. When the restaurant is full and reserved, they will turn people down, no matter when empty seats are visible. The fact that the tax is not included is written on the first page of the English menu. Overall amazing experience. The cooks and the staff were very friendly and their conversation with their ordinary customers are really heartwarming, the whole place is full of laughter and joy. You can say it is enthused and frequented by old customers all the time. The food is great, one of the most delicious meals I had this time. I recommend the shrimps.

English menu easy to use, servings are reasonable, have to sit on the grill plate and watch how the cook cooks our delicious meal. Can recommend shrimps and mushrooms, as well as wagyu garlic rice!

Very recommended place. It's one of those restaurants that doesn't look amazing from the outside, but it's. The cook is a master and offers various dishes for a ridiculous price. Everything looks good and is kind of artistic. For the price you will enjoy high-quality food and the show!

Appetizers were amazing, and experience was exceptional. We started with the cattle tongue (which is included with all meals) and this was by far the best part of the meal. In a position to grill yourself and then enjoy it immediately was fun and delicious. We then ordered 2 other Okonomiyakis and both were great. The additional bonus of the grill before you meant that every bite was hot! The English here was okay, and they had an English menu, so the order was not difficult. Would recommend coming here early or making reservations. We came at 8:00 on a Sunday, and the hostess took our name and gave an hour to wait. We can come back at 8:50 and sit right away.

Went here two nights in a row it's amazing! I didn't get the older guys name, but he's super friendly, and a very good cook. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Excellent atmosphere, watch your food get cooked in front of you whilst you drink beer. Would highly recommend this place! It's a shame we're leaving Kyoto tomorrow. We'll definately be back to eat here in a few years.
