Bidrage med feedbackThe ex owners of Phoenix Soars are behind Supreme J so expectations were high when I dined here. Save to say, expectations were met!<br/ <br/ The roast meats are not to be missed, especially the roast duck. The BBQ pork had great flavour but just sliced a bit too thick and thus a tad tough. Another favourite was the deep fried chicken ribs with salted egg yolk. Really can't go wrong with this dish. Crispy, tender chicken ribs, generously coated in salted egg yolk batter so moreish.<br/ <br/ On their recommendation, we tried the seasonal veggies in pork consommé, and what a robust and rich stock this was. We were also recommended the tofu with minced pork and preserved veggies, and this was another dish that was big on flavours.<br/ <br/ Last but not least, the fried crispy egg noodle with shredded pork. Another delicious dish that was executed brilliantly.<br/ <br/ This place was packed with customers on a Saturday night, and it's not hard to see why. Excellent food and attentive service, what more can you ask for?
We dined here after seeing a movie at the very closeby Balwyn Cinema. It was a good food experience. It’s a nicely appointed place with a good fit out. It was buzzing on Saturday night and a bit noisy at our table squeezed in between two others. We had some vegetarian spring rolls which were delicious. Our main dishes were deep fried king prawn, stir fried mixed seasonal vegetables some broccoli and Char KwayTeow. They were all very good dishes without exception. Couldn’t fault them. And, decent sized serves too. Service was good through out too and we thought the bill was very reasonable. A nice experience. Recommended.<br/ <br/ PS, the movie we saw btw was Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It’s not for everyone, but we loved it.
I was looking for a review on this restaurant and instead I find a stupidly asinine comment from someone who hasn’t even eaten here. It’s a Chinese restaurant, the menu will have Chinese writing on it, just like a French restaurant will have a French menu with English subtitles. I’m guessing the women who finds shark fin offensive doesn’t eat seafood and hasn’t ever had flake at a fish and chip shop before. It’s as idiotic as a vegan leaving a negative review at a steak restaurant.
Excellent entrees, main course and service in our first visit. Revisiting soon in a large group. Hoping to have the same experience repeated.
I was just thinking that Balwyn could do with a good Hong Kong Chinese restaurant and next thing I know, this one appears. <br/ <br/ What can I say? The food is very good, the service is impressive, the ambience is positive and the prices are reasonable. <br/ <br/ They were a bit slow to bring the bill but only because the restaurant was bubbling with business on a Friday night. I will definitely be back.
