Alf's Cafe - Kurunjang

Not bad at all for a hospital cafe. Moderate amount of food choices. Has lightened me up after being exhausted in the wards for several hours.

Always the best these days. Really tasty food, that ticks all the boxes.<br/ <br/ Last visit I had their Hamburger.<br/ <br/ Not available everyday, but when I went a few days ago for a visit, the Burger was outstanding, two thumbs up.

Not bad for a hospital cafeteria. I was working a nursing shift at The Alfred, and I didn 't have any leftover food to eat on my meal break, since all my cooking gear is still making its way across the Pacific with the rest of my household goods. I 'm not a boat migrant, but my stuff is. So I took the lift down to Alf 's Cafe, reckoning that even hospital food would be better than a grumbly hypoglycaemic stomach.<br/ <br/ I can 't testify about the hot food operation I see other Urbanspooners have slagged it but the coffee-and-pastry side looks good! Alf 's has a bigger selection of patisserie and fancy dessert creations than most of the coffee-forward cafes I 've been to. I don 't know where they source them from, but if I was a patient at The Alfred, I 'd be begging my rellies to bring me some. As long as it was compliant with the doctors ' diet order, that is!<br/ <br/ My almond croissant $3 was a bit dense in the middle, but had crunchy edges, lots of almonds on the top and good flavour overall. The flat white I had was more like a cappucino no microfoam, but what can one expect from a hospital, eh? although the flavour was mellow. And they whipped it out at 'Respond Blue ' speed! On future shifts at The Alfred, I know where I 'm eating. At least until I start generating my own leftovers.

Second visit!. Second visit ,really loved it!, especially the greek moussaka pastitsio!plus the fantastic greek spinach pie! next time I ll try the greek feta cheese pie!I'm Greek-Australian and the greek dishes reminded me of my mom's cooking!

I'm Impressed. This cafe at The Alfred hospital is convenient and has a good range at a good price. This is my second visit as a guest of a patient at the Alfred and I have been remembered by staff. I always get outstanding service, friendly conversation and quality food and the BEST coffee in the area. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Alf's for an economical meal and an awesome coffee with great service to boot!! Thanks guys!!
