Peter's Special - Kuching

Oysters were a great starter. The squid, oxtail stew, steamed garupa, pork knuckles, fried oysters and midin followed in succession. The oxtail stew was different with it's generous dose of black pepper. Pork knuckle tasted quite close to German pork knuckle in all it's deep fried glory. The bonus self serve fish bladder soup was a good wholesome addition to a cold rainy evening.

Stew oxtail probably one of the best in town, comes with bread, roasted lamb is another best findings. Soft and tender, grilled to perfection. Pork chopped is good too. The local fern 'midin ' is crunchy and well done. We had two bottle of beer, 1 lemon tea. Our bill comes up to rm237.50. Not cheap though but then the food is good. There 's a soup corner placed at the side entrance, it 's self service. Outside seating available. Clean space.

Very good Asian restaurant. Has some western influence for sure. We started with some black bean soup and followed with pork knuckles and a huge filet of fish. Then came the oxtail stew served on a platter along with warm bread. Delicious. After that came a green bean dish to make sure you get some greens. That followed with the grilled squid which was also very good. Service was good but dishes came out very slowly. I mean slow as molasses slow! Overall good and worth a try!

Super super slow service, food okish not fantastic. Prawns way overcooked and overpriced. Oxtail stew not too bad.

While the food is okay, it 's the service that leaves you with a bad taste each time. I 've been here a few times and tonight was the final visit. The service is always unapologetically slow. So be prepared for long waiting times. Add to that the totally unfriendly, rude and unhelpful attitude of the grouchy lady superviser in charge, and you 've got yourself a guaranteed bad night out. Your mood and appetite are all affected ... even before the first dish is served. Here 's one place where the lack of manners isn 't at your table but always at the cashier 's counter. Don 't even expect to hear a simple, polite thank you after paying for the lousy dining experience. This has happened too many times. Hence I 'm finally driven to post this review. Bad behaviour should never be rewarded.
