Ramasseri Idli is a beloved South Indian dish that originates from the Ramasseri village in Kerala, India. These idlis are distinct for their smaller, thicker shape compared to regular idlis. They're made using a special rice batter and are typically served with coconut chutney and sambar. The uniqueness of Ramasseri Idli lies in its taste and texture, making it a favorite among those who enjoy South Indian cuisine. If you're a fan of idlis, trying Ramasseri Idli could be a delightful culinary experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Recommended dishes: Ramasseri Idly

Ramassery idlis are quite flat and extremely fluffy in nature unlike the regular idlis. It is also made in sets of three. Only now have they come into the limelight with internet and social media promoting these gems to the world in general. Made in an interesting utensil and delish to eat steaming hot with sambar, chutney and podi is mind blowing :D.
A typical Palakkad village with very loving people and a traditional taste. We need to take a turn near from the Kurumba Bhagavati temple situated on the Coimbatore Palakkad highway. Private Buses provide service to reach the place. The ambience is beyond words and the route is so pleasant. Chutney powder is the perfect combination with Ramasseri Idly , so better to avoid Sambar and Chutney. This idly is famous bcuz of the traditional way it gets prepared. There are a number of small restaurants here. The UNESCO once recognized this traditional taste (as someone quoted on social media). Anyway the ambience and the special taste make this place a memorable one. Plz do visit. I had visited the place the last week.
