River Dance Lodge Idaho's Outdoor Adventure Resort

This lodge has an impressive appearance and is situated in a fantastic location. However, we decided against staying there due to their extremely harsh and self-serving cancellation policy that we have never encountered in our travels across the U.S. and Europe. The lodge does not issue any refunds unless the reservation is canceled a full THIRTY DAYS in advance, claiming they cannot re-book the room once a reservation is made and later canceled. This seems unreasonable, especially during the peak tourist season. When I called to ask if this policy would still apply if we paid for three days and faced a family emergency just 28 days before our arrival, the lodge confirmed that we would forfeit the entire approximately $1,000, no matter the circumstances. Previously, the worst cancellation policy we faced was one that offered a full refund only if the room was re-booked. I hope that sharing this experience highlights the seemingly unfair nature of this policy and encourages the lodge to adopt a more traveler-friendly cancellation policy in the future.

The staff was awesome and dinners included in our package were delicious. We stayed in a Glamping tent which was roomy with a comfy bed and the soaking tub out back was definitely a plus. We look forward to returning and plan to stay in a cabin nexttime.

This is our third year visiting River Dance, and we always choose to stay in the glamping tents, which provide a unique and stylish way to enjoy the outdoors. The staff, especially Jodi and her dog Echo, are fantastic and treated us to some delicious meals. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect spot for relaxation, reading, napping, and swimming in the Clearwater at the beach at Three Devil. This place feels magical, and we plan to make it our annual retreat. We highly recommend it—go visit!

We held our small wedding here, and the staff were absolutely exceptional. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating to both us and our guests throughout the entire weekend. I do wish the café had been open, but they were kind enough to let us store our items in their kitchen, which was a great help. The cabins were wonderful, though they did get a bit warm without air conditioning; it wasn’t too uncomfortable, though. Overall, I absolutely loved the place! It's the perfect location for a large group or a romantic weekend getaway. I will definitely be returning.

Beautiful place. We stayed in a glamping tent and we loved it. The service staff were all very nice and took the time to chat with us during our stay. Rafting the Lochsa was amazing. All other rivers seem a little less exciting now!
