Roter Gugelhahn - Konstanz

A casual pub style restaurant with a large variety of options on the menu - all of which sounded good. It concentrates on meat such as steak and schnitzel, pizzas, Flammkuchen (tarte flambé) and rösti (potato fritter). The food came quickly and the portions were large which was good as we were hungry! The food was good but nothing to rave home about. What dropped this from a 4 to 3* review though was that at the end of the meal they asked if everything was ok and my mum mentioned her dish was missing the mushrooms and had cheese on it which wasn't on the menu. Rather than apologising about this, the waiter insisted he saw mushrooms on the plate when he brought it out and said it comes with cheese but just doesn't say so on the menu...so much for the customer is always right!

In advance: the personal is very nice, courtesy and very striving. there's nothing to say. Unfortunately, no table at all came to eat. everything that comes from the stone oven takes much longer than the dishes from the kitchen. the table is ready before the rest started to eat. to eat yourself: the flammkuchen is delicious, pizza unfortunately nothing special, salat is again very tasty and fresh, normal dishes again only average.Prices are ok, portions are big, ambiente is nice but not special. cleanliness ok, smoker area to smell throughout loka.And... unfortunately no windy though very family-friendly.

Nice place, I enjoyed. For me the hamburger had too much sauce, I would prefer put the amount myself. Very tasty french fries.

My friend and I stopped here for a few beers and really enjoyed it. Staff were great, the beer was delicious and the hearty German food was tasty. The bar itself is a nice place to be as it's got a traditional German feel to it and it was busy with holidaymakers for Easter. Despite eating and drinking plenty our bill wasn't big either so it was great value. I'd come here again if I ever return to Konstaz.

Small, warm and well-furnished environment, with a lot of wood and typical atmosphere, famous stonata a couple of slot machines. kind and caring staff. Typically German gouty food (chicken, roast). and at discreet prices, even pizzas (with Italian names quite stunned, also present the berlusconi) are good and not messed up as normally happens abroad. Very comfortable for the proximity to the center and autosilo fischmarkt.
